Clients can also choose to manage the news portal entirely on their own, or they can ask Universal Systems Inc. to regularly manage it for them.
The automatically provided daily news feature is standard with all news portal packages. It is completely customizable and has over forty different news feeds to choose from. The news feeds can be selected from areas such as finance, regional news, top news, sports, entertainment and lifestyle. Once chosen, these articles are updated on a daily basis regularly without any extra effort needed.
The self provided news section is where the client is able to display their own articles. These articles can be updated as often as the client wishes, whether daily, weekly or monthly. Articles are sorted by different categories that the client determines and any number of articles can be placed in each category. Articles can be marked as current, and will be displayed as the most recent news, or they can be archived to appear as older news.
The online management software is standard with all news portal packages. Clients can manage categories, add or edit articles, and manage users. It is also possible for Universal Systems Inc. to manage the news portal for the client if they so wish.
To better understand what visitors are looking for, it is useful to be able to track their visits closely. By getting visitors to register to the website to it is very easy track how often they visit. Once a new visitor has registered, on subsequent visits they are able to login to access several additional features. These include event postings, announcements and letters to the editor and are completely free to the user.
Newsletters are an optional feature for every news portal that hinges on user registration. When a new user registers they have the option of requesting emails to let them know when the site has been updated. This is a great feature because it allows you to keep in touch with your readers and reminds them to return to your site to read the new articles.
